Hey everybody,
It’s been a while since I last shared this weekly email, but I’m happy to say that I’m back :)
(if this is your first time getting this email, welcome! you probably found me here, here or here.)
I went on hiatus at the end of 2020 and I’ve had an awesome 6 months. I’ve been working on lots of things that I’m excited to share.
In particular, over coming weeks / months, I’m planning to share:
breakdowns of machine learning concepts and their applications to healthcare
tools for ‘personal knowledge management’ (what I think of as the next level of human-computer symbiosis)
reflections and learnings on raising children and education
strategy for starting a deep tech business in healthcare
reflections from straddling a medical and data science/machine learning career
plus mixed thoughts from the future of academic publishing to new blockchain-based opportunities.
If you have experience in any of the above, I’d love to chat! (just hit ‘reply’ 🙂)
🙋 Ask me questions (🎉5,000 subscriber Q+A session this Thursday)
On a related note, I’ll be doing a livestream Q+A session this Thursday at 8pm (GMT+1 - London time) - available here.
I hit 5,000 subscribers on YouTube a few months back (mostly driven by this video, it seems), so I’m using it as an excuse for a Q+A session.
Reply to this email if you have any questions you’d like me to answer! I’ll also be answering questions from the live chat.
🔗 Cool links
I enjoyed this reflection from Nadia Edhbal about her approach to writing and the weirdness of post-COVID times
I recently stumbled across The Darknet Diaries - a podcast which shares various tech and deep web-related stories. The ‘ooh dark net’ vibe is a little cheesy in my opinion, but some of the stories are really interesting. I just listened to episodes 71-73, which cover North Korean cyber-attacks and the WannaCry virus which affected the UK’s national health service (NHS) a few years back.
I made a ‘fun quiz’ on medical AI, if you fancy testing yourself. It takes about 20 minutes, and links to useful resources at the end.
Until next time :)
Chris
